The Ross S. Sterling Band Association, Inc. is the band parent organization for the Baytown Sterling High School Band program. Most members are parents of current band students but membership is open to all who want to advance the band program. In addition to all kinds of support for the Sterling program the association awards college scholarships to several band seniors each year and supports various community interest activities in the cities and surrounding unincorporated areas in the Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District

The
Ross S. Sterling High School
Band has about 200 members organized into three bands, the Symphonic, the
Concert and th Other Sterling Band performing groups include two jazz bands and many small ensembles. Band members also have the opportunity to perform in the Sterling High School Full Orchestra. In recent years the Sterling High School Band has been named "Best in
Class" at the Six Flags Invitational Festival, and the Crescent City Classic
Festival, has received numerous Texas UIL Sweepstakes Awards, has performed for
then President George Bush, has appeared on the "CBS This Morning" television
show and has advanced to the Texas State Marching Contest three times.
The Sterling Bands compete annually in Texas University Interscholastic League marching, concert and solo/ensemble contests. Band members individually audition for the Texas Music Educators Association All-Region, All-Area and All-State bands.
